Arches and garlands are measured in linear feet. Linear feet is the total length of an arch or garland from one end to the other if it were laid down in a straight line. Knowing the number of linear feet will tell you the cost of an arch or garland but it will not tell you how wide or tall an arch will be.
There are several dimensions to consider when selecting the right arch for your space. These include the interior height/width and the exterior height/width of the arch.
The height and width of an arch can vary based on how far apart the two ends are placed. The example above shows a 24 linear foot arch with the bases placed 7.5 feet apart. In this example the arch has an interior height of approx. 8 feet. If we were to slide the bases a little closer together the height would increase and the width would decrease.
